SoundField Custom Design Products

SoundField offers a range of custom surround sound decoders and controllers
for auditoria installs such as Theatre, Opera and Orchestra Halls. A unique
technology is used to deploy and manipulate surround sound in spaces not suited
to standard surround format playback. The backbone of the system is SoundField
B-Format which gives unprecedented flexibility in both control and loudspeaker
placement and can be made compatible with all current audio playback formats:
mono, stereo, 5.1, 6.1, 7.1, etc. SoundField B-Format is a truly discrete full
bandwidth system with no compromises in audio quality.
Surround Decoders
The SoundField surround sound decoders used to drive multi-channel loudspeaker
arrays are custom designed to meet your loudspeaker arrangement (we can also
help you in deciding upon loudspeaker positions) and do not need to follow standards
such as 5.1. Furthermore, there is no limitation to the number of loudspeakers
that can be used and an increase in loudspeakers will result in increased localisation.
Height information is also available within the B-Format system, and only requires
a height dimension to be added to the loudspeaker playback system, helping to
create more dramatic localisation. All custom decoders can be implemented in
both hardware and software depending on your requirements.
All custom surround sound decoders are calculated based on exact loudspeaker
positions and if required can be auditioned prior to install using our unique
real-time modelling platform. This will allow for any fine tuning to take place
before the final hardware or software is completed.
Surround Controllers
A wide range of hardware and software tools are also available to control
and manipulate 3-dimenisonal-surround sound. Due to the flexible nature of
SoundField B-Format unprecedented control is available over sound source positioning
and global 3-Dimensional manipulation such as rotation, tilt and zoom.
In order to allow compatibility with current formats such as mono, stereo,
5.1, 6.1, etc conversion tools are available to play these formats back over
your chosen loudspeaker configuration.
